FitTrip Niner 29 - Review

The FitTrip Niner 29 comes with a hydroformed aluminium frame with internal cable routing. The Hardtail frame has a slanting top tube, which provided an aggressive position yet gave the rider supreme control on the trails. Both the top tube and bottom tube aren’t circular, they are flat which makes the tubes sleek and keep the weight in check.During the test ride the stock front suspension fork with its 1mm travel worked well both on harsh urban roads and rough trails. The Suspension lockout was a useful feature for efficient riding on smooth and flat surfaces.

The gearing in the FitTrip Niner 29 is handled by Shimano Altus 3-Speed at the front and Shimano Alivio 9-Speed at the rear. Having 9 gears at the rear ensures an extended rage of speed which provides more power. The Shimano Altus 27-Speed rapid gear shifters were easy to use.

The FitTrip Niner 29 which we test rode came in a Green primary colour on the frame with Gold as the secondary colour for graphics. The matte finish paint job along with the gloss decals enhanced the colour scheme to make it look shining. The internal cable routing made the Bicycle look neat and the colour coordinated rims and fork made this Mountain Bike look aesthetic.

The stopping power in the FitTrip Niner 29 is taken care of by a pair of Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes. These disc brakes are powerful and balanced and felt safe to engage even at high speeds during the test ride.The FitTrip Alloy handlebar is 7mm in length with a very slight rise from the middle. This is a perfect MTB handlebar which means a comfortable and open chested riding posture giving the rider great control over the Bicycle during fast paced trail rides.

The Kenda MTB tires impressed us during the test ride. The 29” x 2.1” tires were heavily treaded with bulky buttons which covered the edges as well. These tires were fast rolling on flatter surfaces and could handle rough patches with ease.The stock Trail specific saddle was wide with enough cushioning.
