Snapshot

The Hero Sprint Howler 26T SS Disc is built on a strong hardtail Steel frame. The frame geometry is comfortable with a higher standover clearance and also has a higher ground clearance to roll over obstacles on roads comfortably. The tubes are sleek and have enough material at critical points to absorb the hard hitting from the surface. The suspension fork on the Howler was a basic threadless coil spring with a claimed travel of 6mm, but worked comfortable up to 5mm during the test ride. This was sufficient for riding on urban roads and slightly patchy surfaces.

The Howler 26T SS is a Single-Speed bicycle. This simple drivetrain is easy to maintain and also pedals smoothly on city roads with minimal elevations. The 44T Steel crankset along with 18 teeth freewheel made sure the pedalling motion and acceleration was easy even from a stand still point. The pedals were wide and had a good grip pattern.

The bicycle which I test rode came in a full Black frame with Orange and White as the secondary colours with neat and stylish graphics. The sleek tube design made the bicycle look stylish. The gloss finish paint job was of good quality. The Orange brake cables were a good contrast and enhanced the aesthetics of this bicycle.

The Hero Sprint Howler 26T SS Disc comes in 3 colour variants; Black/Green , Black/Blue and Black/Orange

The Sprandum branded Mechanical Disc brakes handle the braking on the Howler 26T SS. These brakes were powerful enough to bring the bicycle to a sudden halt and also felt balanced during the test ride on rough urban roads. The 62mm Steel handlebar was wide and gave an ‘Open-chested’ riding posture and the 7mm raise from the middle made it comfortable.

The Mechanical Disc brakes were powerful and quick in stopping on rough urban roads

The Hero Sprint Howler 26T SS rolls on a pair of Ralson 26" x 2.1" MTB tires along with 36H double walled Alloy rims. The treading was bulky and evenly spaced out, giving superior traction on smooth and rough urban roads. The stock MTB Saddle was sporty in design with a sleek profile to keep the rider comfortable without any soreness.
