Ninety One Tracer R14 700c - Review

The Ninety One Tracer R14 Road Bicycle is built on a full Hi-Tensile Steel frame. The Tracer R14 marks Ninety One's entry into the Road Bicycles. The frame's geometry is standard with a straight top tube, which made sure that the riding posture is comfortable and relaxed. These tubes have been welded smoothly and the overall frame has been built in a way for it to be strong to handle any bumps and obstacles on the road. The Hi-Ten Steel rigid fork is bladed and strong.

Microshift's R9 derailleurs in the front and rear complete the 14-Speed gear system in the Ninety One Tracer R14. These derailleurs are considered entry-level in the Microshift hierarchy and these derailleurs are made specifically for Road Bicycles and are sleek in design. The shifting was smooth and no lag was experienced during the test ride. The Shifters for this 14-Speed derailleurs are the paddle type and are easy to use.

Ninety One have experimented with various graphics and designs in their vast range of Bicycles. The Tracer R14 Road Bicycle which we test rode came in a full Grey frame with Orange and Silver as the secondary colours for the graphics and text. The matte finish paint job was smooth and neatly done. The sleek tubes and neat graphics definitely enhanced the aesthetics of this Bicycle.

The Logan branded Road Caliper brakes on the Ninety One Tracer R14 were sufficient for all braking needs on flat tarmacs. The brakes felt balanced and sufficient in stopping power.The drop handlebar was wide enough to give great steering control and easy access to the paddle shifters and brake levers.

The Ralson 7x28c road specific tires on the Tracer R14 were ideal for flat roads. They were slick and fast rolling and the tread pattern gave enough traction to keep the bicycle safe on wet surfaces.The ergonomic stock Saddle was designed with the perfect length and width to make sure the rider is comfortable on both bumpy and long rides.
