WaltX Spark 5 V2 - Review

The WaltX Spark 5 V2 is a Hybrid Electric Bicycle built on a full Alloy frame. This frame seems to be less aggressive and more endurance and comfort focused compared to the previous Spark 5 version. Electric Bicycles generally tend to be heavier than normal Bicycle, but this Electric Bicycle weighs 18.7kgs which is lightweight when compared to other Hybrid E-Bicycles without compromising on its strength, as during test ride it could handle vibrations off the surface easily. This lightweight Alloy frame also contributes towards better pick-up on throttle mode. The riding posture was comfortable with no stress which is perfect for commutes and long distance rides.The Spark 5 V2 comes with a flattened rigid fork. During the test ride this rigid fork helped keep the weight at a minimal at the front while also handling bumps and potholes with ease.

The WaltX Spark 5 V2 which I test rode came with a 1x7-Speed Shimano Tourney rear derailleur. Gears in an Electric Bicycle help in keeping up to the battery assisted speed of the E Bicycle by adjusting the pressure in pedalling. These gears are also useful when the battery charge is low or if the charge has run out, as one can use it to ride efficiently. During the test ride these gears shifted smoothly and the shifters were easy to operate.

The WaltX Spark 5 comes in full Black primary colour with Celeste as the secondary colour for graphics and text. The sleek tube profiles made the E Bicycle look neat. The battery pack on the bottom tube has colour coded graphics and also is shaped in such a way that it blends well with frame's shape. The front and rear LED lights were stylish in design and were not only useful features for visibility in the dark but also enhanced the aesthetics of this bicycle.

The WaltX Spark 5 V2 comes with Logan Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear. When riding in the city through traffic, braking is an important component, in case one needs to get the E Bicycle to a stop quickly and in a balanced manner. During the test ride these Mechanical Disc brakes on this E Bicycle worked efficiently, giving me confidence to ride fast and stop safely in traffic. Both the brake cables acts as a motor cut off, and it responds quickly.The raiser handlebar on this Bicycle is 6mm long and comfortable, allowing for a comfortable riding position. The reach to the console on the left, and the grip accelerator on the right was easy to use, without straining.

The WaltX Spark 5 V2 comes with DSI branded 7x35C Hybrid tires. These tires are the perfect blend in between Hybrid and MTB tires. The 7C circumference ensured fast rolling and the tread pattern ensured these tires are grippy on both rough and wet urban roads. The saddle on this E Bicycle is comfortable and there was no soreness felt during long rides. Additional cushioning on the saddle would have made it more comfortable for the rider.
